Getting to Quobba once again felt like driving on the Nullabor.
There is just nothing up this way outside of the major towns except roadhouses.
Its quite amazing really as you can see for miles in every direction.
I managed to miss a herd of goats that were crossing the road up ahead but just as i got there another half dozen came running out of the bush in front of the bus so there was a bit of heavy breaking required to save the day.
When i arrived at Quobba it was jammed packed as it is a cheap camp $5 so very popular.I managed to find a place to park up and then headed to the beach which was fantastic,The water was a beautiful Green colour and very clear.
Quobba is famous for its blow holes but i thought they were a bit ho hum....
I spent a couple of days here as it was so nice. When i left i had the intention of going to quobba station for a couple of nights which was further up the road along a 8km dirt track but decided to give it a miss as it looked like rain and the road is unpassable when its wet so thought i may get stuck there and as i was booked in at Coral Bay in two days time i thought it best to keep going.
I ended up stopping for the night at a free camp south of Coral bay and in the middle of nowhere.
I won't stay in any of the free camps on my own so i was pleased to see there were already a couple of others there when i arrived and by night time there were about Ten of us so i felt very safe.
It was a beautiful night and everyone was sitting outside there was an amazing sunset which was bright red but i couldn't take any photos because my cameras batteries ran out.
There were some French backpackers staying there and they had a kite so kept us all entertained watching them fly it.
I am also surprised by how many International backpackers there are in these parts which is fantastic.
I have come across French, German ,Dutch and Swiss. Good for our tourist trade and economy.
