A funny thing happened the other day as there were flyers put up around the town announcing that at 5pm at the fish filleting tables "Andrew"one of the contestants from the recent series of "My Kitchen Rules" was going to be there to give a demonstration on how to fillet fish,so half the town turns up only to find out that it was only a joke that his friends were playing on him.He was just in town holidaying and his friends thought they would set him up.The poor guy was really embarrassed so he stayed for awhile having his photo taken and signing autographs.
Judging by the amount of people that turned up it may have given him some ideas for the future...
Had a great day on Friday as Yvonne,Hugh,Georgie,Ross and i all went for a drive further up the coast to check out Ningaloo station. There are a lot of free camps there so we thought we would go for a drive and have a look.
The station itself wasn't much as the homestead was just a broken down old house with an old caravan they used for an office and was where you check in as you need keys to open the gates for access to the camping spots.
So after paying our $5 per head fee and getting the keys we set off in search of the camps. There was heaps of wildlife around the place,we saw goats, sheep,Eagles and a Goanna.
The camp spots were all along the waters edge and most needed a four wheel drive to access so i don't expect to come back in the bus and they weren't that great.
We stopped for lunch in one of the camp spots and then eventually headed back to Coral Bay via a Four wheel drive track which was a bit of and adventure.
This Friday where off to Exmouth for the day and are going to drive around the national park area which is meant to be amazing.
Its also a good opportunity for me to see that area as you can't take dogs in there so i wouldn't have been able to go otherwise.
Most days are spent either at the beach or the pool and we finish off the day with happy hour every night at 5.30pm and yesterday because it was Mothers Day we had an afternoon tea party where we all took something. My contribution was Latte's from my u beaut coffee machine and Frangelico, we had several different types of cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls, all very civilised for these parts...........Just as well i have my bike set up on the wind trainer.............
This morning Yvonne and i went for a walk along the beach to the Marina and back and then we went for a swim. While we were swimming all of a sudden near by i saw a fin sticking out of the water and quickly alerted Yvonne and as we were backing away we realised it was only Dolphins which was a relief.
They are so great to watch just frolicking in the water.
The photos above are of Coral Bay taken from the look out.
